Lebanese state continues to pay rent for building abandoned since 1990

The Lebanese University started renting a building in Mansourieh in 1977 for an amount of LBP 300,000.

The university used this building for the faculty of sciences until 1988 and due to war, it was used by the Lebanese army for two year only, before turning into barracks for the Syrian army after the invasion of October 13, 1990.

All these years, the Lebanese University continued renewing the lease contract, which increased with the increase of the living cost, to reach 178.817 million Lebanese Pounds per year (approximately $100 thousand).
