4 al-Qaeda suspects arrested over links with recent funeral attack

Militants from the Popular Committees in Jaar, Yemen, arrested 4 al-Qaeda suspects on Monday over alleged links with the suicidal attack on a funeral last Saturday.

A suicide bomber killed at least 42 tribal fighters and wounded dozens more, when he blew himself up in the midst of a funeral in a village in Yemen's southern province of Abyan on Saturday.

The bomber appeared to have been targeting the commander of the Popular Committees, a group of tribal fighters that fought alongside the Yemeni army during an offensive against Ansar al-Sharia militants in the region.
