Information Minister Jamal al-Jarrah declared Thursday that the cabinet put aside the item related to the salaries pending what can be achieved in other items in terms of increasing revenues and reducing expenses, stressing that the ministers have presented new proposals.
Following the cabinet session discussing the budget draft law, he noted that each item has been subject to a decrease in expenses, in a way that will result in the reduction of around 1000 to 1200 billion Lebanese pounds in the budget draft law.
Al-Jarrah added that the ministers will present tomorrow (Friday) proposals for reductions from their respective ministries’ budgets, pointing out that the session will be held tomorrow at 1:30 pm, and additional sessions will also be held on Saturday and Sunday in order to finalize the budget.
