On Thursday, President Michel Aoun handed US Ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard a proposal including ideas for the mechanism of demarcating the Lebanese land and maritime border in the south.
The document received by Richard includes two main ideas:
- The demarcation of the land and maritime southern borders at the same time and within one package.
- Negotiations to be held through a UN committee and a US follow-up.
