Berri meets with US Congress delegation

Speaker Nabih Berri met on Saturday in Ain el-Tineh with head of the Foreign Affairs Committee at the US Congress Elliott Angel, accompanied by a Congress delegation.

The meeting was held in the presence of Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Committee Head MP Yassin Jaber, with talks focusing on the latest local and regional developments.

Berri asserted during the meeting, that he is "not pessimistic about the situation in Lebanon", adding that the country "has managed to overcome several difficult phases through the Lebanese citizens' unity and dialogue."

Talks also touched the US efforts over the demarcation of sea and land borders.

“Lebanon does not want war, but will not relinquish its sovereignty and rights to its land and sea."
