The Military Court acquitted Internal Security Forces officer Suzanne al-Hajj Hbeish, dropping all charges against her related to her involvement in the case of framing actor Ziad Itani.
In the case of hiding information from her superior, al-Hajj was sentenced to two months in prison that could be replaced with a fine of 200,000 Lebanese Pounds.
Commenting on the verdict, al-Hajj’s attorney told LBCI that “the judiciary has said its work that Suzanne al-Hajj is innocent,” adding that the victory of for the judiciary’s bravery in ending the arbitration suffered by al-Hajj.
In turn, Elie Ghabash’s defense attorney also told LBCI that “the battle will continue until acquittal is reached.”
According to information made available to LBCI, three members of the Military Court jury voted in favor of acquitting Suzanne al-Hajj of any criminal offense, and two members voted against.
