Education Minister Akram Chouhayeb stressed that “his concern if to help the students succeed in the upcoming stage while trying to make them get used to be away from chaos and conduct transparent exams.”
Commenting on the issue related to the students who did not receive their exams cards, the minister said after inspecting the course of the Brevet exams at the Lebanese University in Hadath, that the schools in question are not listed in the ministry’s data and do not have a license.
“We warned these schools back in April and urged them to acquire a license and the necessary documents from the ministry so that the students can participate in the Brevet official exams, schools did not take the necessary measures to obtain the needed license,” he explained.
The Education Minister stated that the ministry is there to serve the students’ interests and the community. Addressing the students who took to the streets on Wednesday, he said that “these schools are only commercial and are taking advantage of them.”
He also stressed that a list of fake and unlicensed schools has been referred to the judiciary, adding that the ministry will resort to the Central Inspection and Educational Inspection on order to put an end to the ongoing chaos in the sector.
