President Michel Aoun stressed that three pillars constitute the republic, the freedom of religion, the right to be different and the freedom of opinion and expression.
Following the meeting of the Higher Defense Council, deputy Secretary General of the HDC Wajdi Chamseddine read the session’s statement, pointing out that “President Aoun called on the judicial and security apparatuses to pursue the necessary measures according to the laws to make the necessary arrests related to the security incident that took place in a number of towns in the district of Aley.”
The council made decisive decision to restore calm to the region, arrest those involved in the shooting and refer them to the judicial authorities.
