BDL Governor Salameh: BDL continues to ensure stability of Lebanese Lira exchange rate
Banque Du Liban Governor Riyad Salameh asserted on Thursday that the BDL continues to encourage productive and economic sectors in general and to ensure the stability of the exchange rate of the Lebanese lira.
Salameh’s comments were made during his speech at the 9th CSR Forum whereby he noted that there is always a difference between the official exchange rate pegged to the Lira and the exchange rate at the exchange companies.
“The increase in the dollar’s demand led to an additional cost ranging between 1 and 3 percent on the prices in banks,” he added.
