Uneasy calm in Tripoli following sporadic sniping overnight

Uneasy calm is prevailing over the northern city of Tripoli on Saturday following sporadic sniping during the night targeting Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tebbaneh.

Meanwhile the army is intensifying its deployment on the contact lines and its patrols in the streets.

The activity in the city is gradually returning to normal, where shops and public and private institutions reopened.

In this context, a meeting is set to be held today at the residence of MP Mohammad Kabbara, in the presence of deputies, the city’s political and religious figures, as well as security leaders in order to reach a solution for the conflict in Tripoli.
