A convoy reportedly opens fire on protesters-[VIDEO]
During the protest held on Thursday night in downtown Beirut against the new taxes, the convoy of one of the politicians reportedly opened fire on the demonstrators while trying to open the road.
 
The convoy reportedly belongs to Minister of Education Akram Chehayeb, according to some protesters.
 
"I asked Comrade Akram Chehayeb to hand over those who shot in the air, we are under the law, but we are asking for a transparent investigation and we refuse to attack anyone," said Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt in a tweet following the incident.
