Hariri’s initiative focuses on a series of “rescue decisions”-sources

Sources said that Prime Minister Saad Hariri held, immediately after his Friday’s statements, working sessions to prepare for a series of “rescue decisions.”

These decisions reportedly aim at meeting the popular demands and the country's financial and economic situation.

The sources said that the work will be completed with all political forces, adding that Hariri will decide his following step based on this initiative.

According to sources close to Hariri, the initiative aims to:

- Stabilizing the situation, and promoting social protection and benefits for the low-income people.

- Reducing debt service and reducing the deficit to zero, with the banking sector making a major contribution in this field next year.

- Cancelling all taxes and fees that were mentioned before the popular movements.

- Submitting proposals to reduce corruption in various fields and state departments.

- Providing electricity next year.

- Accelerating the implementation of Cedre conference projects.

According to the sources, this initiative is required to be accepted “as it is” and to immediately start implementing it.
