Industry Minister Wael Abou Faour said on Sunday that the country is going through a decisive phase that needs bold moves.
“Any politician would be mistaken if they do not take into account the scene in the streets,” he said.
Abou Faour noted that the Progressive Socialist Party was briefed by PM Saad Hariri on the reform document he presented, which is an advanced reform proposal, pointing out that the party added a number of items containing reform measures.
The minister explained that their proposed items include the rejection of any tax targeting the salaries and revenues of the citizens, while imposing an increasing tax on the wealthy people and prosecuting those who violate the maritime properties, stressing the need to cancel all benefits of the deputies, ministers, presidents and ministerial officials.
“We received an understanding from Hariri over these items,” he added.
