Recovery of stolen public funds from Switzerland, is it possible?

Even if the stolen public funds in Lebanon moved into bank accounts in Switzerland, its recovery is possible as many precedents stand proof.

The most recent recovery of stolen public funds from Switzerland was from accounts of former Nigerian dictator Sani Abacha, where the Swiss authorities returned to the Nigerian state an amount of $321 million. In 2005, the Swiss authorities also returned to Nigeria an amount of $700 million from Abcha’s money.

After the breakout of the Arab Spring revolutions, Switzerland also froze many accounts owned by officials and rulers of countries in which uprisings took place.
