Lebanese Interior Minister Raya Haffar al Hassan said that the country's political elite can no longer weasel its way out of protesters' demands, adding that the protesters have set the bar very high.
In an exclusive interview with CNN, al Hassan told Becky Anderson that she does not think that Lebanon has reached a dead end, stressing the need for a change in the mindset of the politicians, “since business cannot continue as usual,” as she said.
“By forming a technocratic government, it will be a step in the right direction. It’s a different ball game,” she pointed out.
