Aley National University denies finding major explosive

Two large bottles filled with benzene and attached to a detonator were discovered Sunday morning near the National University in Aley.

Security forces promptly attended the location and asked for a military expert to examine the makeshift explosives.

The administration of the National University in Aley confirmed in a statement that the rumors circulated in media about the discovery of an explosive near its premises is far from reality, playing down what was found to less than an explosive placed in front of a wall in the neighborhood of the University.

"The National University in Aley with its long academic and coexistence history...is distant from politics, and its doors are open to all Lebanese students of different backgrounds without any discrimination."
