Gharib to LBCI: A transitional national government must be formed

General Secretary of the Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) Hanna Gharib said on Saturday that Lebanon’s protests are historical and refer to the magnitude of awareness among the Lebanese people.

“It is a class-social uprising par excellence,” he said during an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV show.

He also stressed importance of forming a transitional national government.

“Establishing a civil state is required,” he noted.

Gharib also stressed that the country is “at a turning point."

"We either go towards the option of building a secular democratic state, or we go towards holding onto this failed state that leads to federalism," he concluded by saying.
