Karameh: Insults sought sedition and I had to exercise maximum restraint

MP Faisal Karameh said on Tuesday that yesterday’s protests outside his residence in the northern city of Tripoli “violate the privacy of homes, insult martyrs and practice behaviors that contradict the morals of the city and the revolution.”

“Difference of opinions does not mean that we are not a family and I will not allow distorting the image of the city,” Karameh added during a press conference.

“I never believed that a day would come and hear insults against Lebanon’s martyr Rachid Karameh,” he went on by saying.

Karameh also stressed that the insults were seeking sedition, adding that he had to exercise “maximum restraint.”

He concluded by calling for saving the city from "the siege it is facing by cutting its roads and closing its institutions in order to protect the revolution and uprising."
