Geagea to LBCI: Formation of a techno-political Cabinet is a recipe for failure

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Monday that the only solution for the current crisis is the formation of a new Cabinet made of figures "capable of work and have nothing to do with the past political figures."

Geagea’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI whereby he said that the formation of a techno-political Cabinet "is a recipe for failure."

“Any prime minister that will be chosen must be approved by caretaker Prime Minister Saad Hariri because the Future Movement is the most popular party among Sunnites,” Geagea went on saying.

On another note, Geagea stressed that Free Patriotic Movement leader and Minister of Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil "fought for the last minute to stay in the next Cabinet lineup or to have a large share in it."

“How can the president’s party be in the opposition?” he added.

Geagea also stressed that his party’s supporters did not cut off roads, adding however that some LF individuals participated with the rest of the citizens in closing roads.

“We did not issue any decision regarding cutting off roads or related to the uprising,” he added.
