UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti confirmed on Wednesday that the situation in South Lebanon remained calm.
In a statement to the National News Agency, Tenenti said that the UN force is carrying out more than 450 daily activities in coordination with the Lebanese armed forces, adding that UNIFIL's utmost priority is to maintain security along the Blue Line. "We are monitoring the situation in the region, but our activities and our security measures have not changed," he added.
Tenenti concluded by saying that UN Force Commander, Stephano Del Col, was continuing coordination with "both sides to avoid any misunderstandings, reduce tension, as well as preserve stability along the Blue Line."
