Edde to LBCI: Government defends Syrian regime’s interests in Lebanon
President of Lebanese National Bloc Carlos Edde said on Tuesday that Lebanon has always been receiving refugees, “because it has a wide margin of freedom”, calling for taking measures to prevent kidnappings on the Lebanese territory.

Edde told Nharkom Said that arresting a gang kidnapping Syrian opposition members in Lebanon proves the Syrian regime’s involvement in kidnappings and security incidents occurring in Lebanon.

He noted that the government is unable to take action to face the Syrian violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty, because “it was formed under Syrian pressure and has a duty to protect the Syrian regime’s interests in Lebanon”.
