Finance Minister holds meeting with ABL delegation

Chairman of the Association of Banks in Lebanon Salim Sfeir headed on Friday a delegation and met with Minister of Finance Ghazi Wazni.

Following the meeting, Sfeir said that talks were “positive,” adding that the deposits in Lebanese banks exist and will remain there.

“There will be no haircuts,” Sfeir also reassured.

This as sources told LBCI that it was agreed during the meeting to reduce the interests on deposits and loans in order to activate the economy and to alleviate financial burdens.
