French defense minister arrives to Beirut

French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian arrived in Beirut Thursday afternoon aboard a private plane.

Colonel Ousama Atchan, representing the Lebanese Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn welcomed him at Beirut International airport, in the presence of French ambassador to Lebanon Patrice Paoli, a number of the embassy’s officials and officers from the French contingent working in South Lebanon.

The French official's visit comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral relation manifested through several meetings with local dignitaries and officials . Le Drian will be visiting his country’s contingent working with the UNIFIL.

The French Minister is expected to hold a press conference at 7:30 pm at al-Sanawbar Palace, where he will tackle the objectives of his visit to Lebanon.

Le Drian arrived in Lebanon following a trip to Oman.
