Interior Minister Fahmi: Any violation of lockdown will be suppressed
Minister of Interior Mohamad Fahmi asserted on Sunday that Lebanon will be dragged into the unknown if lockdown will not be respected.

Fahmi’s comments were made during a press conference dedicated to elaborate over the measures that will be taken by the security apparatuses to limit the spread of the virus.
“Some Lebanese people did not abide by the preventive measures which increased the numbers of infections,” Fahmi lamented.
The minister stressed that any violation of the lockdown that poses a danger on the safety of others will be suppressed.
He also called on the Lebanese people to call 112 to receive more details about the lockdown.
Prime Minister Hassan Diab asked the Security Forces on Saturday to enforce stricter measures to keep people indoors and prevent gatherings to curb a coronavirus outbreak.

In his televised speech, Diab said this would include patrols and checkpoints, calling on the Lebanese to stay home and only go out if "absolutely necessary".

He also revealed that the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Lebanon has reached 230.
