Destruction of cannabis continues in Deir al-Ahmar, residents protest

The Internal Security Forces continued on Wednesday, for the second day in a row, the destruction of cannabis crops in the town of Deir al-Ahmar, Baalbek, with the support of the Lebanese Army and amid the protest of the town’s residents.

In this context, a number of residents and Mukhtars staged a sit-in at the entrance of the town to denounce the fact that destruction has been limited to their fields. They also called on officials to fulfill their promises by compensating the farmers and finding alternatives.
