Minister of Telecom denies having solicited cellular operators' continuation of work

Minister of Telecommunications Talal Hawat tweeted on Thursday: "There is no truth to the reports circulated by some media outlets, relevant to the Minister of Telecom's request from the two cellular operators to carry on with their work."

He added: "This fabricated news aims to mislead the public and disrupt the fresh vision and methodology in dealing with this vital sector in Lebanon. The two companies are readying themselves for the handover."
