Mikati meets Iran’s Ambassador to discuss bilateral cooperation
Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi at the Grand Serail on Tuesday morning, with talks featuring high on the current situation and latest developments in the region.     

Following the meeting, the Iranian Ambassador said that discussions revolved around the latest developments both on the regional and international scenes, mainly the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.       

He added that they also discussed agreements signed between the two countries and the need to activate them, mainly after the meeting of the "High Joint Cooperation Committee" of the two countries held under the chairmanship of Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Iran’s First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi. The committee had agreed on transferring the Iranian natural gas to Lebanon through Iraq and Syria.     

The Ambassador added that a delegation of experts and technicians from the Lebanese Ministry of Labor will travel to Tehran to jump start the labor agreement signed between the two countries.      

Roknabadi stressed that talks also tackled the Iranian- Lebanese Trade and Economic Conference which will be held in Tehran on the 13th and 14th of October.
