Sharif: Syrian and Palestinian students exempted from school books costs
The President of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee Khaldoun Sharif declared on Friday that the Lebanese Education Minister Hassan Diab informed him of the cabinet’s decision to allocate an amount of 2 billion Lebanese Pounds to cover the costs of school books for Syrian and Palestinian students, from the primary classes to the ninth grade.

This decision came following meetings with the concerned Palestinian authorities and with the relatives of the Syrian students attending Lebanese public schools. The cabinet issued this decision in order to lighten the burden posed by the conditions of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The Education Ministry circulated this decision on all public schools directors.
