Sleiman continues his visit to Uruguay for the second day

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman continued his visit to the Uruguay for the second day, as he visited the Lebanese club where the club's president Badro Abou Chalha welcomed him and expressed his pride of President's visit to the club.               

President Sleiman praised the efforts deployed by the club to contribute in the improvement of Lebanon's image and strengthening the relations between both countries.                     

Sleiman then visited the headquarters of the Lebanese University on Montevideo, where a huge picture of him with a welcoming expression was raised.               

Another stop in the tour, Sleiman visited Our Lady of Lebanon Church, which is the only historical Maronite center in the Uruguay. The Priest of the parish, Father Elias Tarabay, welcomed the president and expressed his "confidence that Lebanon holds a peace and security message by having such honest men as the President Michel Sleiman ruling over it". Father Tarabay added that "the Lebanese Community in Uruguay is characterized by distancing itself from political conflicts, and is united by Lebanon's history"; however, this community needs support from the Lebanese government, he noted.                      

President Sleiman signed the Church's record before exchanging gifts, and unveiling a painting in the memory of this occasion.
