Nahas calls for combatting corruption through comprehensive procedures

Minister of Economy and Trade Nicolas Nahas said on Monday that Lebanon is in need for comprehensive and complete procedures to combat corruption in public administrations, starting with the customs to the prison.

In an interview with Voice of Lebanon radio station, Nahas refused to anticipate investigations in the scandal of the customs, leaving the case to the judicial authorities.

In this context, Nahas noted that the position of the general director in the customs administration is vacant, adding that the problem lies in bringing in goods and products under false names to avoid paying taxes.
