At least six people killed in separate attacks in Iraq
At least six people, including three policemen and two anti-Qaeda militiamen, were killed on Monday in shootings and bombings targeting Iraqi security forces north of Baghdad, security and medical officials told AFP.

Separately, one person was killed and at least 15 others wounded when two car bombs exploded in the center of the Iraqi city of Kirkuk on Monday, Iraqi police and hospital sources said.

The first car bomb was detonated just few meters away from Kirkuk's local government building in the center of the city and when people rushed to the scene a second car bomb exploded, police said. A passing vehicle with Kirkuk's traffic police chief was hit by the blast, but the police official escaped unhurt.

Also in Tuz Khurmatu, a car bomb at one of the main entrances to the town left nine people wounded, two local security officials said.
