Aoun: the role of the security apparatus is to implement security

Head of the Change and Reform Bloc MP Michel Aoun said that the latest incident taking place in the Roumieh prison are indicative of the need for the head of the Information Branch General Wissam Hassan and Director General of the Internal Security Forces to up their performance in terms of training and strengthening related barracks and military schools.                

“Security apparatuses should be implementing security across the country, not instigating corruption and aiding in prison breaks,” he added.                   

"I hold Director General Ashraf Rifi and Information Branch accountable for the Roumieh prison scandal which reminds of the mob rules of silence,” he said.

On the electoral law,  Aoun reiterated that the 50 districts electoral law proposal was not discussed in Bkerki and would not heed acceptance by his party.

When asked on his claims about October 13th incidents, Aoun said that the Lebanese Forces alliance with the Syrian Army is documented by Lebanese officials who were in charge during that period.
