Faraon to LBCI: Hassan's explosion is the stronger since Hariri's assassination
Lebanon First bloc MP Michel Faraon said on Saturday that the explosion which targeted the head of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau Brigadier General Wissam al-Hassan in Acharfieh is an attack against the region, its people and the nation, adding that this incident recalls that Acharfieh was targeted several times throughout history.

In an interview with Nharkom Said, Faraon noted that Samaha's case, uncovered by Hassan, draws the road leading to the criminal, pointing that Friday's explosion is the stronger since that which killed late PM Rafik Hariri in 2005. Faraon stressed that the Lebanese citizens are the ones holding the government responsible for Hassan's assassination, before any official did.

In this context, Faraon revealed that Hassan and Rifi have been receiving threats ever since former Minister Michel Samaha's case was unveiled, calling on PM Najib Mikati "to resign because he can save Lebanon from falling into strife and contribute in reaching a solution".

On Friday afternoon, an explosion rocked the Achrafieh area targeting and killing ISF Information Branch General Wissam Hassan. The explosion also killed and wounded several civilians.
