REPORT: Details of March 14's Friday meeting revealed

The attack on the Grand Serail was not planned, despite the controversial opinions which prevailed over March 14's meetings on Friday and Saturday held at the residence of former PM Saad Hariri in Beirut which were dedicated for discussions and finding political ways to deal with the situation.

In this context, sources told LBCI that not one of the attendees of the meetings has suggested taking to the streets and attacking the Grand Serail, adding that the main proposal was a "complete and comprehensive constitutional boycott", which means boycotting cabinet's dialogue and parliament's discussions. The sources said that even this proposal was rejected by all parties who agreed at the end, to call for the cabinet's resignation, to deploy the Army along the border and to hand over Hezbollah's suspects in the case of the assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri.

It is worth mentioning that head of the Future bloc Fouad Siniora did not attend any of the meetings held in preparation of the funeral.

On the other hand, contacts with former PM Saad Hariri were made through his advisers who stressed that there will be no retreat and no return, and the movement must be limited to politics.
