LAF continues implementation of security plan, 100 people arrested
The Lebanese Armed Forces unit, deployed across the Lebanese region that witnessed security tensions over the past days, continued on Tuesday the implementation of the security plan set by the LAF leadership to suppress armed manifestations and to respond to gunfire, riots and attacks against citizens' properties, according to a statement issued by the LAF Command.

The statement added that army units will continue implementing raids on gunmen locations in Beirut and Tripoli, until complete calm is restored in both cities. It added that the army forces have arrested so far around 100 people, including 34 Syrian nationals and 4 Palestinian nationals, and have seized in their possession weapons, ammunition and military equipment. The statement noted that during the gunfire exchange between the army and the gunmen, 15 LAF members were injured, including two officers.

On the other hand, LAF arrested on Monday five people in the Bekaa, for possession of arms and weapon smuggling, and they were referred with the seized items, to the concerned authorities for necessary legal procedures, the statement said.
