Sleiman meets with Mikati, receives message from Hollande

President Michel Sleiman met on Saturday with Prime Minister Najib Mikati at Baabda Palace and discussed the latest security and political developments on the local scene.

Separately, Sleiman received a condolence message for the death of Brig. Gen. Wissam Hassan from his French counterpart Francois Hollande through the Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs. The message stressed France’s cooperation with Lebanon, country and people, noting that the crime aims only at destabilizing Lebanon and paralyzing its institutions.

Hollande also called on the Lebanese people to put the interest of their country above all matters, reiterating France’s commitment to support Lebanon in order to maintain security and stability.
