Jreissati denounces MP Mashnouq’s statements

Labor Minister Salim Jreissati denounced MP Nouhad al-Mashnouq’s statement against a judge handling a criminal investigation in a case considered to be under military jurisdiction. Al-Mashnouq’s statements were directly addressed to the judge, questioning his ability to face what the MP called “pressure exerted against him.”

Jreissati said that “defaming any judge is considered as an offense to the judicial authority.”

“As though it were not enough that the Lebanese Judiciary remove its sovereignty over a case, for the interest of an international judiciary, al-Mashnouq accused it of delaying investigations and trials, and being subjected to politicization,” Jreissati noted.
