REPORT: Latest developments in oil exploration file

Spectrum Company, which conducts three dimensional surveys to search for oil and gas, considers that the economic zone facing South Lebanon has huge oil and gas wells.

For his part, Energy Minister Gebran Bassil stressed that Lebanon has an oil and gas reserve allowing it to have an important role in the surrounding region.

Bassil told LBCI that the surveys conducted to search for oil and gas in the Lebanese regional waters show that new wells exist, but it is difficult to predict the quantities that can be extracted before drilling.

This as the Energy Ministry started to choose among the 618 names presented to the oil sector management committee, people to fill six positions.
