REPORT: Sehnaoui to LBCI: 4G service slightly more expensive than 3G

Alfa telecommunications has successfully ended its first lab test on the 4G technology whereby the speed test reached 100Mbit/Sec.

The 4G technology service will not be available before the 23rd of April 2012 after undergoing a pilot phase.

In this context, Minister of Telecommunication Nicolas Sehnaoui said to LBCI that the 4G pilot phase will take several months and will not cover all Lebanese areas initially.

The Minister mentioned that this service will slightly be more expensive than the 3G service.

Meanwhile, Lebanese people on social networks such as Facebook did not react favorably to the news.

Some mocked while others asked for improving the available service [3G] instead of seeking other ones [4G].
