Northern Metn Municipalities protest against road situation

The mayors of Northern Metn towns called on the Public Works and Transportation Ministry to finalize the issue of asphalting the main road linking East Bekaa with the Metn Highway, before the winter season starts, given the bad condition of the road despite previous promises.

The mayors issued a joint statement read by the mayor of Shweir, Ain al-Sendyaneh Elias Bou Saab, whereby they called for finding a solution for the Metn Highway's crisis in Baabdat where the road has been the cause of traffic jams. They also called for accelerating the establishment of a wastewater refinery on the southern side of Wadi al-Erbanieh region.

Bou Saab noted that they will not take escalatory steps; however said that they will keep their movement peaceful within legal frames.
