Bassil: Construction of the Balaa dam to take 3 years

After signing a memorandum of coordination between the Lebanese Ministry of energy and the Iranian Ministry to implement the project of the Balaa Dam, Minister of Energy and Water Gebran Bassil said that an Iranian company will be responsible for the dam while a Lebanese company will take on the implementation duties.

Bassil said that construction will take 3 years pointing out that "Iran made an offer that Lebanon cannot reject especially with regards to the costs."

“We now know who’s responsible for preventing water, oil, gas, and electricity supplies,” Bassil concluded.
