Mansour: International action against Israel is needed

Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour returned on Wednesday in Beirut coming from Cairo, after a visit he paid to Gaza Strip alongside the Arab League's Chief Nabil Elaraby and a number of Arab Foreign Ministers to condemn the continuous Israeli attack on Gaza.

Mansour said yesterday's meeting with Ismail Haniyeh was very positive, adding that the Arabs voiced their full solidarity with the Palestinian people.

"The solidarity they voiced was not just moral; in fact, there will be procedures in the future to end the occupation," he said.

"What is happening on the land of Palestine today requires action from the whole world," he added.

"There are countries in the world that can exert pressure on Israel to force it to abide by international resolutions," he said.

Mansour added that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had called for holding an urgent Arab meeting to discuss the Palestinian issue, indicating that he would be soon receiving the invitation.

"I think the Arab leaders will meet this call" he concluded.
