REPORT: Organ donations in Lebanon: A concept in progress

The National Committee for Organ Donation and Transplantation in Lebanon was established three years ago in cooperation with Spanish official parties to develop the concept in Lebanon targeting the medical body and the Lebanese community.

In Lebanon, 5200 people chose to save lives by signing the decision of donating their organs.

Over the last three years, 167 Lebanese citizens were able to get corneal transplantation, 29 citizens got kidney transplants, 9 people received heart transplants, and 3 people got liver transplants. These numbers mark a significant, but not enough progress. This as a song was launched in order to encourage people to donate their organs and save lives.
