Pre-Trial Judge to hold hearing this afternoon

The Pre-Trial Judge Daniel Fransen will hold a hearing on 27 November as part of his duties to ensure that the proceedings are not unduly delayed.

The Status Conference, which will begin at 2 PM, will be public; however, the Judge might decide to go into closed session during the course of the hearing if confidential matters need to be discussed.

On the 15th of November, the Prosecution at the Special Tribunal for Lebanon filed its Pre-Trial Brief, the list of witnesses it intends to call to trial, and the list of exhibits it intends to offer into evidence.

The filing is in accordance with a deadline set by the Pre-Trial Judge as part of the preparation for the trial.

The Prosecution’s 58-page Pre-Trial Brief elaborates on the allegations and charges in the Indictment. It includes, for each count charged in the indictment, a summary of the evidence which the Prosecution intends to bring regarding the commission of the alleged crime and the form of responsibility incurred by the accused.
