The Future bloc holds government responsible for bloodshed in North Lebanon

The Future Bloc said on Tuesday that Former PM Fouad Siniora briefed the bloc on the results of his meeting with MP Walid Jumblatt and reiterated the position of the Future Movement and March 14 which calls for the resignation of the government and the formation of a rescue cabinet.

In a statement issued following the bloc’s weekly meeting, the bloc commented on recent developments in Tripoli, whereby it expressed hope that Tripoli and all of Lebanon will be devoid of extra-state arms, holding the government responsible for the bloodshed in North Lebanon with the failure of the security plan.

On the other hand, the Future Bloc considered that what MP Okab Sakr revealed requires a follow up from the judiciary and the National Media Council, as well as the prosecution of all those who contributed to the "forgery". In addition, the bloc called on the government and the security apparatuses to follow up on the case of former Minister Michel Samaha in accordance with the facts revealed by the investigations.

In its concluding remarks, the Future Movement confirmed its commitment to the principles of late MP Gebran Tueni on the 7th commemoration since his assassination.
