Cabinet rejects ISF Intelligence Bureau's data request

The cabinet held a session on Wednesday at the Baabda Palace under the chairmanship of President Michel Sleiman, with 70 items on its agenda.

Prior to the session, President Michel Sleiman held a meeting with PM Najib Mikati.

During the session, the cabinet officially rejected the ISF Intelligence Bureau's request pertaining to the handover of complete telecom data, limiting the data delivery to the phone numbers of those suspected, said Telecommunications Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui.

As for the Syrian arrest warrants against Former PM Saad Hariri, MP Okab Sakr, and the Free Syrian Army official Loay Mokdad, the cabinet assured that the Justice ministry did not officially receive them.

In turn; Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour noted that the Syrian arrest warrants do not concern the Lebanese government, pointing that the lawsuit should be filed from Syria before the international Interpol.

On Teipoli, the President said that the Northern City's security plan has yielded positive results, hoping that this will continue over the coming days.

The Cabinet failed to discuss the series of ranks and salaries and a meeting was not specified for this issue seemingly since PM Mikati wants to continue his communications in order to find funding sources for the pay scale.

This as the Syndicate Coordination Committee's held a general strike to denounce the Cabinet's failure to forward the ranks and salaries series to Parliament for ratification.
