Hariri to Sayyed Nasrallah: You have lost everything

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri said that there is a need to remind Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah that the national dialogue table has one and only issue to tackle: the pending issue of Hezbollah’s weapons. Via Twitter, Hariri stressed that the dialogue table includes neither the economic situation, nor the electoral law.  

“Sayyed Nasrallah lost all kind of support and solidarity; in fact he lost everything when he changed his project from one of resistance to one of power usurpation in Lebanon,” he said.     

On the upcoming elections, Hariri said that March 14 is not attached to the 1960s electoral law, accusing Sayyed Nasrallah of not wanting elections to take place in Lebanon.       

Hariri said that the working group called for by Sayyed Nasrallah to tackle the economic crisis is exactly the same neutral government March 14 is calling for to save Lebanon. “His latest fad was to call for the formation of a working group to solve the economic crisis outside state institutions,” he said.       

Hariri said that Nasrallah is trying to absolve himself of the responsibility of the economic situation, adding “this situation is primarily the responsibility of the government formed by Sayyed Nasrallah himself.”     

On Syria      

Hariri said that Sayyed Nasrallah is still considering that what is happening in Syria is not a popular revolution, but a civil war.  

“Sayyed Nasrallah is accusing us of betting on the victory of the Syrian revolution while in fact he is the one betting on a civil war in Syria to convince himself that the revolution will not triumph,” he said.          

“We do not want to return to Lebanon via Damascus airport and we never said so; however, we consider that Nasrallah’s statements show that he is well aware of the meaning of losing Damascus airport,” he added.
