Fadlallah: Telecom data must be delivered according to a specific mechanism

President of the parliamentary Media and Communications Committee, MP Dr. Hassan Fadlallah stressed on Tuesday that the complete telecom data cannot be delivered to the security apparatuses except in accordance with a specific mechanism, noting that the law must not be violated.          

Following the committee’s meeting in al-Nejmeh Square, Fadlallah regretted the fact that those who presented a proposal regarding the above mentioned issue did not attend the meeting, and therefore have hindered the possibility of discussing the proposal.          

Commenting on the American request to establish a communication station in Lebanon, the MP explained that the committee asked the Ministry of Telecommunication to provide all the official documents in this regard, stressing that the file will be discussed in the presence of the Telecommunications Minister in a session expected to be held on Thursday.              

“There are no agreements between Lebanon and Washington regarding the US request; the cabinet should be keen on following up on this matter,” Fadlallah said.
