REPORT: Clash erupts at Lebanese University, injures two

Two young men were wounded on Tuesday when a dispute erupted at the Lebanese University Faculty of Letters, Fanar.

In this context, a student from the Free Patriotic Movement told LBCI that Lebanese Forces members entered the university’s campus and attacked the students, injuring two young men; one of them is in a critical condition and was identified as Charbel Mourabi.

On the other hand, a Lebanese Forces student, Nadim Yazbek told LBCI that a number of Lebanese Forces students were distributing sweets for the Christmas and holidays season. He added that one student got out of a car and asked them to stop what they are doing and threatened them; then FPM and Marada students holding sticks arrived and started the clash.

The director of the Faculty of Letters did not allow the LBCI to watch the videos of the surveillance cameras, stressing however that the Lebanese Forces were the ones who triggered the dispute.
