Gemayel from Bkerke: We hope for a positive answer from Berri

A meeting was held between Kataeb Leader Amine Gemayel and Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Rai on Wednesday whereby Gemayel announced that he is trying to activate state institutions to achieve the required stability for the country.

“Yesterday, we (March 14) discussed the proposal of House Speaker Nabih Berri to activate the electoral committee in order to prevent anyone from disrupting or postponing the elections,” he said.

Gemayel hoped for a positive answer from Berri in order to agree on a swift mechanism which would in turn lead to an understanding on an electoral law to be ratified at Parliament. “We are sparing no effort to ensure elections are held on time,” he said.
